In this meeting/workshop you will learn how to plan and enjoy a simple, yet complete one-hour Vedic Wedding Ceremony:

  • How to combine discipline and joy
  • How to decipher the spirit and meaning of each step you take
  • How to interpret and convey the meaning of these steps to non-Hindus (prospective spouse, prospective in-laws and guests)
  • How to chant basic Sanskrit mantras
  • How to work with your families and engage them in the ceremonies
  • How to incorporate your family traditions
  • How to design a perfect ceremony respecting regional variations
  • How to plan and participate in a rehearsal
  • How to assemble, organize and use materials needed
  • How to plan, organize and perform Pujas special to the bride and the groom

with many decades of experience in performing Hindu weddings (Gujarati, Punjabi, Maharashtra, UP, Bengali, Andhra, Tamilnadu, Kerala and Karnataka traditions involving both Hindu and non-Hindu bride/groom) and the author of  THE VEDIC WEDDING: Origins, Tradition and Practice - winner of the USA Book News 2007 Best Book Award and Practice and Hinduism for Dummies (2011).
